यदश्वा॑य॒ वास॑ऽउपस्तृ॒णन्त्य॑धीवा॒सं या हिर॑ण्यान्यस्मै।स॒न्दान॒मर्व॑न्तं॒ पड्वी॑शं प्रि॒या दे॒वेष्वा या॑मयन्ति॥३९॥

यत्। अश्वा॑य। वासः॑। उ॒प॒स्तृ॒णन्तीत्यु॑पऽस्तृ॒णन्ति॑। अ॒धी॒वा॒सम्। अ॒धि॒वा॒समित्य॑धिऽवा॒सम्। या। हिर॑ण्यानि। अ॒स्मै॒। स॒न्दान॒मिति॑ स॒म्ऽदान॑म्। अर्व॑न्तम्। पड्वी॑शम्। प्रि॒या। दे॒वेषु॑। आ। या॒म॒य॒न्ति॒। य॒म॒य॒न्तीति॑ यमयन्ति ॥३९ ॥

Translation
The victory horse is covered with highly attractive cloth, worthy of appreciation, with golden trappings and decorations. And the horse is provided with special head-robes and foot-robes. No wonder the distinguished visitors are impressed. (1)

Vāsaḥ, a cloth for cover; foot-robe. Adhīvāsam, the upper cloth; a screen. (Kätyāyana refers to the vulgar practice, implying the lying of the queen during the night by the side of the horse behind the screen); head-robe.
