इ॒मं मा हि॑ꣳसीर्द्वि॒पादं॑ प॒शुꣳ स॑हस्रा॒क्षो मेधा॑य ची॒यमा॑नः। म॒युं प॒शुं मेध॑मग्ने जुषस्व॒ तेन॑ चिन्वा॒नस्त॒न्वो निषी॑द। म॒युं ते॒ शुगृ॑च्छतु॒ यं द्वि॒ष्मस्तं ते॒ शुगृ॑च्छतु॥४७॥

इ॒मम्। मा। हि॒ꣳसीः॒। द्वि॒पाद॒मिति द्वि॒ऽपाद॑म्। प॒शुम्। स॒ह॒स्रा॒क्ष इति॑ सहस्रऽअ॒क्षः। मेधा॑य। ची॒यमा॑नः। म॒युम्। प॒शुम्। मेध॑म्। अ॒ग्ने। जु॒ष॒स्व॒। तेन॑। चि॒न्वा॒नः। त॒न्वः᳖। नि। सी॒द॒। म॒युम्। ते॒। शुक्। ऋ॒च्छ॒तु॒। यम्। द्वि॒ष्मः। तम्। ते॒। शुक्। ऋ॒च्छ॒तु॒ ॥४७ ॥

इमम्मा हिँसीर्द्विपादम्पशुँ सहस्राक्षो मेधाय चीयमानः । मयुम्पशुम्मेधमग्ने जुषस्व तेन चिन्वानस्तन्वो निषीद । मयुन्ते शुगृच्छतु यन्द्विष्मस्तन्ते शुगृच्छतु ॥

इमम्। मा। हिꣳसीः। द्विपादमिति द्विऽपादम्। पशुम्। सहस्राक्ष इति सहस्रऽअक्षः। मेधाय। चीयमानः। मयुम्। पशुम्। मेधम्। अग्ने। जुषस्व। तेन। चिन्वानः। तन्वः। नि। सीद। मयुम्। ते। शुक्। ऋच्छतु। यम्। द्विष्मः। तम्। ते। शुक्। ऋच्छतु॥४७॥

Translation
О thousand-eyed fire divine, being consecrated for the sacrifice, may you not injure this biped animal (i. e. man). May you consume the mayu (the precursor of man) and flourishing thereon may you be seated here. May your burning heat go to the mayu; may your burning heat go to him whom we hate. (1)
Note
In this and the next four mantras a prayer has been made to save some animals and offering their substitutes to fire. Dvipadain pagum, द्विपाद्वा एष पशुर्यत्पुरुष:, man is verily the biped animal. Medhaya, यज्ञाय, for the sacrifice. Ciyamànah, वर्धमान:, being built up; being fuelled. Mayum, किम्पुरुषो वै मयु: ‚ kimpuruѕа is mayu. (Satapatha, VII. 5. 2. 32),किमयमपि पुरुष: इति भ्रांति: यस्मिन स: किम्पुरुष: about whom there is doubt whether this also ts man; an animal resembling man very much, perhaps an ape; precursor of man. Tanvah,तनू: ज्वालारूपा:, your bodies in the form of flames. Suk, शोक: संतापो वा, flame or heat; sorrow. Yam dvismah, whom we hate.
