English
Samveda (Acharya Dharmadev Vidya Martand) - English
Translation
O Soma, (God) flow and purify all with that juice (bliss) of Thine, most excellent that brings delight, slaying the wicked propensities and protecting divine virtues, thoughts and tendencies, flow on ceaselessly and purify us.
Comment
The juice mentioned in the verse is clearly the Juice of bliss and peace which destroys all sinful tendencies and yet Rev. Stevenson quite erroneously translates it as “consecrate for thyself that inebriating liquor which satisfies the Gods and destroys the eulogists of sin.” How ridiculous to think of liquor as destroying all sin? Is it not absurd. ?
